Altered Clipboard

I saw this idea in several different place around the web and decided to try it for myself. I fell in love with the idea as it is a nice, inexpensive gift that is very easy to customize to the recipient. I did this one for my mom.

I used K&Co papers from the Best of paper pack and the calendar and notepad came from dollar general. They have all kinds of these for a dollar. I just ripped them from the cardboard backing they came on and used them like this. I neat little gift for under 5 bucks.

Oh, and Mom loved it.

A christmas card and an update

Wow, not sure where the time went. Here it is almost Christmas and I haven't blogged in forever. I have the android app on my phone now so at least I can update my blog, even if I can't check out other peoples blog til Im at home.
I've made a couple different cards I thought I would share.
The candy can't card is my favorite I believe.
My sugarbutt has been working on my craft room so sometime in the next couple days I will be sharing my space with everyone. My storage is still a work in progress but I'm still taking lots of photos to share.

3D Dalia Card

My sister sent me a beautiful get well card in the mail the other day. I loved it so much I had to make one myself. Of course I had to do different colors so I wouldn’t be completely copying hers. You can see hers by clicking HERE. And here is my take on it. She also sent me some cool digi stamps that I can’t wait to try out. I’m also entering this in a challenge over at PaperPlayChallenges .

I went for a cleaner look this time. I thought about inking the edges but was afraid I wouldn’t like how it looked and I was so pleased with this I left it. Thanks again sis for the beautiful card and for the idea on the flower. If anyone wants to see how to make this flower Sarah has a link to the video on her BLOG. Hope everyone is having a wonderful day.

A Get Well Card

I still feel really bad but I wanted to do something besides lay on the sofa today. Yesterday I told you the only motivation that I had was maybe to make myself a get well card. Well, I didn't make it for myself but I did make one. The card was cut in Sure Cuts A Lot 2 but as usual I am not sure exactly where the cut file came from. I'm entering this card for a challenge over at Meridith Scraps http://www.meredithscraps.com/2011/01/card-challenge.html so wish me luck!

The card itself was cut out of a plain beige cardstock. The patterned paper behind all the butterflies is from K&Company. The little flower in the corner was cut out of the same paper by hand as was the big butterfly on the front.

The entire card was inked around the edges with Rubber Stampede Coffee Bean Ink pad. I love to ink, to me it just seems to bring everything together. Now, I just need some colors besides brown. I am also thinking I would like to try chalking some too.

Hope you all have a wonderfully, creative 2011!

An update to this post. My BF actually said it was cool, must mean it is really good. All I ever get out of him when I say "Honey, look at the card I made" is a "yea" or "uh huh". WooHoo, I am def pleased. :)

A step card

Right before Thanksgiving, I was looking at some cards online to find some inspiration and came across the step cards. I made a very special lil man  in my life this card. I found an svg file for my cricut but unfortunately it was for the Expression and I have the Create. I found another template that I used but unfortunately the card would fold back down flat to mail so I had to wait to give it to him in person and I am still looking for a template for that if anyone knows where I can find one, or at least the measurements and all. Anyway, I had a lot of fun making this card.

I don't have a lot of card making tools. I have a Cricut create (not the big one, which I would love love love to have), paper, a few stickers, pop dots, markers and brown ink pad. Yes just one ink pad. Anyway, my point is this, my work isn't going to look like people who have tons of stuff to make a card and emboss it and all but I put all of my heart into each on and hope you enjoy.
